Tuesday 16 February 2010 | We are Recruiting | | | We are a clan of dedicated PC gamers, our main interest is First person shooters, but we are a diverse bunch that play a variety of games. Currently we are recruiting Battlefield Bad Company 2 players as we have pre-ordered a Killer Creation server for the game. Our aim is to be a forerunning clan in a competitive league for BC2. So if you are over 18, sick to death of console ports ruining the PC gaming experience and want to have a giggle while rolling over the opposition, do submit a request. | | Monday 01 March 2010 | Team DF Bad Company 2 Server | | | Our server for Bad Company 2 is now running!
Our Details are as follows:

I'm a gamer at heart, i love games and yet to play games i am forced to do two options:
- Play on a windows system
- Play on an emulator for Linux
On a windows i am subject to:
- Virus's
- Malware
- Limitless numbers of hackers
- The Risk of Losing account details
- Having CD Keys Stolen
- Losing Whole Accounts(MMO's)
The alternative: Linux Now any Sysadmin knows linux is probably the most secure of any operating system, there are no viruses as such or malware the biggest problem i've come across was a worm once which was easily solved as they cannot breach the core of the OS. However Most (99%) of game developers do nothing for linux with only a handful of games been released for it directly, the rest? well it has to be emulated using Wine. Sure it works fine for a few games e.g. COD4, WoW, COD5 however it doesnt like Punkbuster as of the time of writing, punkbuster will refuse to install and run.
So my question is this how long before a common coding system is used and we can choose our own OS rather than be forced to choose the OS which runs best with games?
5 years? 10? maybe 25? | | | | |
